LOWELL, Mass. – TRC Companies Inc., a leader in engineering, environmental consulting and construction-management services, announced today that it has promoted Marc Faecher to the position of Chief Risk Officer.
Faecher replaces Tom Bennet, who is retiring in September after 10 years with TRC, the last seven as CRO.
“This is a vital position at TRC and Marc has the perfect blend of industry expertise and institutional knowledge to make this transition seamless,” said CEO Chris Vincze. “He’ll be able to hit the ground running and help us properly evaluate and limit risk, improve project execution and achieve our aggressive growth objectives.”
Faecher previously served as a senior vice president at TRC and was responsible for the Transaction Advisory Services business and implementing the risk reduction strategy for the company’s portfolio of fixed price environmental projects. In that role he oversaw the cleanup of more than 100 sites with a remediation value in excess of $650 million. He has more than 30 years of legal and technical experience in structuring transactions, risk management, environmental liability transfer, brownfield redevelopment and insurance cost recovery.
As CRO Faecher will be in charge of TRC’s overall risk strategy, including the company’s insurance program and the complex project selection and oversight process. He will also oversee sustainability and quality efforts.
“TRC has a long history of effectively evaluating and managing risk – it’s what sets us apart from other firms in our space and our clients recognize that,” said Faecher. “I’m excited to work with my colleagues as we continue to put in place risk management strategies that strike an appropriate balance between risk and reward.”
Prior to joining TRC in 2004, Faecher was a partner at Waters, McPherson, McNeill, a major New Jersey law firm, and handled a variety of regulatory, transactional and litigation matters on behalf of a wide array of corporate and governmental clients.
Faecher lives in Berkeley Heights, NJ, with his wife and three sons. He works out of TRC's New Providence, NJ, office.
